Amendment of three codes of welfare:

1. Code of Welfare: Layer Hens (2018);
2. Code of Welfare: Meat Chickens (2018); and
3. Code of Welfare: Commercial Slaughter (2018).

1. I hereby give notice that, under section 76(1) of the Animal Welfare Act 1999, and having complied with section 76(2) of that Act, minor amendments have been made to the above three codes of welfare.

2. These minor amendments take effect on 30 June 2026.

3. This notice under section 76(1A) of Animal Welfare Act 1999, is secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019.

4. A copy of the minor amendments and the codes of welfare are available on the Ministry for Primary Industries website at: https://www.mpi.govt.nz/.

5. A copy of the minor amendments and the codes of welfare may also available or inspected free of charge from the Ministry for Primary Industries, Animal Welfare Team, Agriculture and Investment Services, Ministry for Primary Industries, Charles Fergusson Building, 38–42 Bowen Street (PO Box 2526), Wellington.
