The Commerce Commission gives notice under section 52W of the Commerce Act 1986 that it has amended the Gas Distribution Services Input Methodologies Determination 2012 [2012] NZCC 27 and Gas Transmission Services Input Methodologies Determination 2012 [2012] NZCC 28.

The amendments have been published in the Gas Distribution Services Input Methodologies Amendment Determination (No.1) 2026 [2026] NZCC 17 and Gas Transmission Services Input Methodologies Amendment Determination (No.1) 2026 [2026] NZCC 18, dated 26 May 2026.

These determinations are secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019.

Gas Transmission IMs

The amendment determination makes the following changes to the Gas Transmission IMs:

1. implements revenue wash-up transitional arrangements between DPP3 and DPP4;
2. corrects minor typographical errors; and
3. makes non-material changes to definitions of accounting and auditing standards.

Gas Distribution IMs

The amendment determination makes the following changes to the Gas Distribution IMs:

1. introduces a mechanism that varies the weighted average price cap, in the event of a significant in- period demand shock, to share the revenue effects resulting from that shock between consumers and suppliers; and
2. makes non-material changes to definitions of accounting and auditing standards.
