Notification of Amendment to Input Methodologies for Electricity Distribution—Accounting for Shifted Revenue
The Commerce Commission (“Commission”) gives notice under section 52W of the Commerce Act 1986 (“Act”) that it has amended the Electricity Distribution Services Input Methodologies Determination 2012 [2012] NZCC 26 (“EDB IMs”), which apply to electricity distribution businesses.
The amendments are set out in the Electricity Distribution Services Input Methodologies (Accounting for Shifted Revenue) Amendment Determination 2026 [2026] NZCC 15 (“amendment determination”). The amendment determination is secondary legislation.
The amendment determination comes into force on 19 May 2026 and amends the EDB IMs to account for shifted revenue when transitioning to a Customised Price Path.
Copies of the amendment determination, and the supporting reasons paper, are available on the Commission’s website and for inspection free of charge, or for purchase at a reasonable price, at the Commission’s office at 44 The Terrace, Wellington (during ordinary office hours).
