Notice is hereby given that in accordance with section 322(1)(b) of the Civil Aviation Act 2023, the Director of Civil Aviation, has granted a class exemption: Australian Commercial Pilot Licence and Airline Transport Pilot Licence holders applying under the TTMRA, to the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand for licence recognition may use the balance of their Australian class 1 medical certificate’s validity period to exercise the privileges of their New Zealand licence, before obtaining a New Zealand class 1 medical certificate [2026], effective from 18 May 2026.

This class exemption is secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019.

The administering agency responsible for administering this class exemption is the Civil Aviation Authority.
