In accordance with section 64 of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009, notice is hereby given that the Minister of Internal Affairs signed the:

Identity Verification Code of Practice 2026

which will come into force on 1 July 2026, except parts 1.4.3 to 1.4.5 (inclusive) which commence on 1 July 2027.

This Code is secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019.

The administering agencies responsible for administering the Code are the Department of Internal Affairs, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and the Financial Markets Authority.

The Rules may be accessed from the DIA website dia.govt.nz.
