Pursuant to section 72 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002 I, Anita Baker (Wellington joint committee chairperson), terminate the state of local emergency declared at 1.30pm on Monday, 20 April 2026 for the following districts within the Wellington Region Civil Defence Emergency Management Group area, owing to severe weather impacts across the region:

• Porirua District Council
• Kapiti Coast District Council
• Upper Hutt City Council

The termination of the state of local emergency for these districts takes effect immediately on the making of this declaration.

For the avoidance of doubt, the declaration of state of local emergency made at 1.30pm on Monday, 20 April 2026 owing to severe weather impacts across the Wellington region remains in force for the areas of the Masterton District Council, Carterton District Council, South Wairarapa District Council, Hutt City Council and Wellington City council.
