Pursuant to section 72 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, James Edward Denyer, terminate the state of local emergency declared at 12.05pm on 11 April 2026 for the Western Bay of Plenty District owing to Cyclone Vaianu passing and no need for emergency powers.

The termination of the state of local emergency takes effect immediately on the making of this declaration.
