Pursuant to section 94B of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Ken Couper, give notice of a local transition period over the Hikurangi-Coastal Ward in the Whangarei District owing to the severe weather event of 25–27 March 2026.

This transition period:

1. comes into force at 5.01pm on Monday, 13 April 2026 which is the time and date when the state of emergency declared at 5.00pm on Friday, 10 April 2026 for Northland is terminated;
2. is in force for 28 days; and
3. ends at 5.01pm on Monday, 11 May 2026 unless extended or terminated earlier.
