Pursuant to section 72 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Emma Jane Pike terminate the state of local emergency declared at 9.32am on 11 April 2026 for the Waikato Civil Defence Emergency Management Group area owing to the potential life-threating impacts from Cyclone Vaianu.

The termination of the state of local emergency takes effect immediately on the making of this declaration.
