Pursuant to section 72 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002 I, Mayor Mahe Drysdale, terminate the state of local emergency declared on Saturday, 11 April 2026 at 5.35pm for Tauranga City owing to Cyclone Vaianu – extreme weather event.

The termination of the state of local emergency takes effect immediately on the making of this declaration.
