Notice of the Allocation Round of Export Licences for Designated Markets for the 2027 Year (Notice No. MPI 2013)

Under Schedule 5B of the Dairy Industry Restructuring Act 2001, the allocation of export licences for designated markets is conducted on an annual basis and allocated based on export volumes for the three most recent dairy seasons.

The complete list of designated markets to be allocated, and the corresponding Tariff heading which will be used to calculate licence entitlements, can be found in Schedule One of this notice.

The allocation round for the 2027 quota year opens on 6 July 2026. If you want to participate in the allocation round you need to submit your application with the required statutory declaration(s) to the Director-General of MPI by 5.00pm on Friday 7 August 2026. The web-link above has the information about how to make a statutory declaration and the text that must be used.

Send your statutory declaration of export history either electronically by email: Dairy.Quota@mpi.govt.nz or in hard copy to: Attention: Dairy Quota Allocation and Transfers, Food Risk Management, Ministry for Primary Industries, PO Box 2526, Wellington 6140.
