Notice of Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism National Strategy 2026–2030

Under section 149B(b) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009, notice is given as follows.

Notice

1. This notice may be cited as the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism National Strategy 2026–2030 Notice.

2. Under section 149B(b) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009, I, as the Minister responsible for the administration of that Act, give notice that the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism National Strategy 2026–2030 (“Strategy”) has been adopted.

3. The Strategy sets out the Government’s vision of “a world class AML/CFT system that makes it easy to do business and hard to commit crime”, supported by three strategic outcomes: protecting the community and our financial system from financial crime, making the system effective, responsive and proportionate, and maintaining our international reputation.

4. The Strategy may be viewed and downloaded from the Ministry of Justice website at https://www.justice.govt.nz/justice-sector-policy/key-initiatives/aml-cft/national-strategy-2026-30/.
