Pursuant to section 5(2) of the Research, Science, and Technology Act 2010, the following research, science, and technology (RS&T) funding in the votes administered by the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment (MBIE) is subject to a separate decision-making process:

- Marsden Fund, but only in relation to the decisions to:
- invite expressions of interest to proceed to full proposals (based on eligibility and assessment criteria) in the 2026 Marsden Fund Round; and

- Digital Technologies Sector Initiatives MCA;
- Science, innovation and technology departmental and capital appropriations.

This notice comes into effect on 1 July 2026.
