Notice is given under section 14(1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (“Act”), of the following application to register a trade name product under section 9(1) of the Act:
Trade Name: MARATHON Triple Minidose Mineralised Drench for Sheep
Reference: A012287
Active Ingredients and Concentrations:
2g/L Moxidectin plus 80g/L Levamisole and 45.4g/L Oxfendazole with 1g/L Selenium (as sodium selenate) and 4.4g/L Cobalt (as cobalt disodium EDTA).
Formulation Type: Aqueous suspension
Application Method / Administration Route: Oral Drench. 1mL/10kg body weight delivering 0.2mg/kg Moxidectin, 8mg/kg Levamisole HCl, 4.5mg/kg Oxfendazole, 0.1mg/kg Selenium and 0.44mg/kg Cobalt.
General Use Claim:
For the treatment and control of internal parasites in sheep, including those with single or dual resistance to avermectin/milbemycin, benzimidazole or levamisole/morantel families. Also provides a supplemental source of selenium and cobalt.
Other Information:
Sheep: For the effective treatment and control of susceptible strains of the following species of gastrointestinal worms.
Gastrointestinal nematodes: For the treatment and control of the following mature and immature gastrointestinal parasites: Barber’s Pole Worm (Haemonchus spp.), Brown stomach worms (Teladorsagia circumcinc-ta and Teladorsagia trifurcata), Stomach hair worm (Trichostrongylus axei), Thin-necked intestinal worms (Nematodirus Spathiger and Nematodirus filicollis), Black scour worms (Trichostrongylus colubriformis and Tricho-strongylus vitrinus), Small intestinal worm (Cooperia curtecei), Large-mouth bowel worm (Chaberia ovina), Whipworms (Trichuris spp.), Nodular worm (Oesophagostomum venulosum), Threadworm (Strongyloides pap-illosus)
Lungworm: Dictyocaulus filaria
Anthelmintic resistant strains: MARATHON Triple Minidose is effective against those gastrointestinal worms that have single or dual resistance to the avermectin/milbemycin, benzimidazole or levamisole/morantel anthelmintic action families.
Any person may make a written submission to the Director-General concerning this application.
