Notice of Application to Register a Trade Name Product (Notice No. MPI 115)

Notice is given under section 14(1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (“Act”), of the following application to register a trade name product under section 9(1) of the Act:

Trade Name: Nobivac NXT HC

Active Ingredients and Concentrations:

Each dose (0.5 mL) of reconstituted vaccine contains:

Live attenuated feline herpesvirus type 1, strain G2620A: 105.8 – 107.1 PFU*

Live attenuated feline calicivirus, strain F9: 104.6 – 107.0 PFU*

*Plaque forming units.

Formulation Type: lyophilisate and solvent/diluent for suspension for injection

Application method/administration route: Subcutaneous use. Reconstitute the vial containing the lyophilisate with the supplied diluent. Reconstituted product will be an off-pink or pink coloured suspension. Ensure that the lyophilisate is completely reconstituted before use. Administer the total contents (0.5mL) of the vial.

Use Claim:

For the active immunisation of cats:

      • to prevent mortality and reduce clinical signs and virus excretion caused by infection with feline herpesvirus type 1 (FHV);
      • to reduce the clinical signs and virus excretion caused by infection with feline calicivirus (FCV).

Any person may make a written submission to the Director-General concerning this application.

Under sections 16 and 17 of the Act, a written submission:

  1. must state in full the reasons for making the submission;
  2. may state any decision sought on that application; and
  3. must be received by the Director-General no later than 30 working days after the date of this notice.

Each submission must state the trade name product(s) to which it relates. Under section 18 of the Act, a copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant.
