Pursuant to section 32 of the Corrections Act 2004, the Minister of Corrections gives the following notice.

1. Title

This notice is the Corrections (Waikeria Prison) Notice 2025.

2. Commencement

This notice takes effect from 16 December 2025.

3. Waikeria Prison

The land and the parts of the buildings described in the Schedule are declared to be a Corrections Prison to be known as Waikeria Prison.

4. Revocation

The Corrections (Waikeria Prison) Notice 2025 dated 6 May 2025, as published in the New Zealand Gazette, 6 May 2025, Notice No. 2025-go2450, is revoked.

Waikeria Prison

All that parcel of land in the South Auckland Land Registration District containing 1,275.5890 hectares, more or less, being Section 2, Survey Office Plan 60097 and Sections 1 and part of 3 Survey Office Plan 455234, and being part of the land comprised and described in Record of Title 647680 (South Auckland Land Registry) excluding:

• all the land and the buildings on the Nikau Road/Waikeria Road known as “Rangiora” (previously known as Nikau Unit) located towards the southern end of the land being part Section 3 SO 455234 and contained within Record of Title 647680; and
• all the land and the buildings on the Miro Road /Rimu Street known as “Ngaio” (previously known as (Miro Unit) located towards the southern end of the land being part Section 3 SO 455234 and contained within Record of Title 647680.
