Pursuant to section 60 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister for Primary Industries, after complying with
the requirements of that section, gives the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Title-This notice is the Fisheries (Quota Aggregation Limit Exemption) Notice 2014.
2. Commencement-This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
3. Exemption to quota aggregation limit for large trough shell for five years-From the date that this notice comes into force, consent is given for Cloudy Bay Holdings Limited to hold quota shares for large trough shell having a quota weight equivalent less than or equal to 58.62% of the total allowable commercial catch of large trough shell.
4. Exemption to quota aggregation limit for triangle shell for five years-From the date that this notice comes into force, consent is given for Cloudy Bay Holdings Limited to hold quota shares for triangle shell having quota weight equivalent, less than or equal to 55.32% of the total allowable commercial catch of triangle shell.
5. Avoidance of doubt-For the avoidance of doubt, at the conclusion of the period of five years referred to in clauses
3 and 4 of this notice, the quota aggregation limit for Cloudy Bay Holdings Limited for large trough shell and triangle shell reverts back to the aggregation limit for large trough shell and triangle shell as set out in section 59(1)(a) of the Fisheries Act 1996.
