Direction In Relation To Disability Allowance Amendment To: The Chief Executive, Department of Work and Income. Pursuant to section 5 of the Social Security Act 1964, I, Roger Morrison Sowry, Minister of Social Services, Work and Income, amend as set out in the Schedule the Direction In Relation To Disability Allowance that I gave you on 28 March 1999, to take effect from the day after the date on which this amendment is published in the Gazette. Dated this 25th day of November 1999. ROGER SOWRY, Minister of Social Services, Work and Income. Schedule Provision Amended Amendment Clause 3 By omitting clause 3 and substituting the following clause ``3. When reviewing a person's entitlement to any disability allowance, you need not require a person to provide verification for any particular expense if you are satisfied that (a) The matters in clause 2 (a) to (c) still apply to that expense having regard to the matters in clauses 4 to 6; and (b) The amount of the expense has not changed.'' Explanatory Note This note is not part of the Amendment but is intended to indicate its general effect. This amendment is to the Direction In Relation To Disability Allowance given by the Minister of Social Services, Work and Income on 28 March 1999 under section 5 of the Social Security Act 1964. The amendment excuses the chief executive from requiring an expense to be verified, when reviewing a person's entitlement to a disability allowance, if satisfied that there is a continuing need for the expense and the amount of the expense has not changed.
