Approval of Brake Testing Devices in Accordance With the Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976 Pursuant to regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety, I, Peter Waring, Senior Engineer, Vehicle Policy, hereby approve the brake testing devices specified in Schedule 1 of this notice for the purposes of testing brakes according to the requirements of regulation 68 of the Traffic Regulations 1976, subject to the conditions of Schedule 2 of this notice. Schedule 1 Nissalco Super-Combi Tester Model M2581. Schedule 2 The method of calculating brake stopping distance, shown in the Appendix in the instruction manual for the Nissalco Model M2581 brake tester, is not approved as a method of calculating stopping distances in accordance with regulation 68 of the Traffic Regulations 1976.
