George Mitchell Trust Notice of Approval of Scheme Under Part III of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 Notice is hereby given that the application of the trustees of the George Mitchell Trust to the High Court of Christchurch for an order approving a scheme under Part III of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957, to vary the terms of and alter the administration of a trust created by a will, dated 11 February 1930 of the late George Mitchell of Christchurch, who died on or about 25 April 1930, has been approved, subject to modifications which are included in the particulars of scheme below. Particulars of Scheme 1. Under the scheme the trustees will transfer all of the trust's assets to the public trustee at Christchurch, who will become the trustee of the George Mitchell Trust. 2. The trustee shall consult with the committee of management consisting of: (a) The public trustee or his nominee. (b) One member nominated by the District Council of Social Services Incorporated at Christchurch. (c) One member appointed by the Salvation Army. 3. The net annual income of the trust is to be applied in accordance with the following levels of priority and then distributed by the trustee: (i) First to the Salvation Army, Bethany Centre at Auckland. (ii) Secondly as to: Pregnancy Help, Christchurch; Family Care Centre, Salvation Army, Christchurch; Home and Family Society, Christchurch; Presbyterian Support Services at Christchurch for Holy House; Methodist Mission, Christchurch; and The Christchurch Womens' Refuge Incorporated, Christchurch and such proportions are payable in such manner as the trustee shall decide for the benefit of young women whether married or unmarried then residing in the Canterbury geographical region who have had their first child during a period of accommodation based care provided or organised by these organisations, such assistance to be provided at the time the woman leave such accommodation based care provided that if any of the above organisations shall cease to exist or change their objects or discontinue their present services (such to be determined by the trustee in his absolute discretion) then such organisation(s) shall be deleted from the second category. (iii) To organisations in the Canterbury geographical region, who upon application to the trustee shall satisfy him that their clients have a requirement to assistance from the trust.
