Approval of Safety Helmets for Cyclists in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1976 Pursuant to regulation 38a (5) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 (``the regulations'') and pursuant to a delegation from the Director of Land Transport Safety, given, pursuant to section 28 of the Land Transport Act 1993, in an instrument of delegation dated the 23rd day of December 1996, I, David Hebden, Senior Education Officer, hereby approve, with effect from the date of publication of this notice, the following types of safety helmets, as described in the Schedule hereto, as safety helmets of an approved type for the purposes of the regulations. Schedule Any safety helmet manufactured to the Consumer Product Safety Commission Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets (reference 16CFR part 1203) (CPSC), complying with the CPSC certification process, and marked or otherwise labelled in accordance with the standard.
