Notice of Proposed Vehicle Standards Compliance Rule The Land Transport Safety Authority (LTSA), in accordance with section 10 (1) (a) of the Land Transport Act 1993, gives notice that draft Rule 35001: Vehicle Standards Compliance is available for public comment. This draft legislation is intended to ensure that all vehicles meet an acceptable level of safety when they enter the New Zealand fleet, if they are modified or their use changes, and throughout their on-road life. A copy of draft Rule 35001 may be obtained by telephoning the LTSA Help Desk on Freephone 0800 699 000. The draft rule is also available for public viewing at the LTSA's 7 regional offices. Copies have been sent to the registered interest groups who expressed an interest in the previous draft. Submissions on draft Rule 35001 close on 30 June 1998.
