Bylaw Regulating the Speed of Vehicles on State Highways in Transit New Zealand Regions 3 and 4 Pursuant to section 61 (3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, Transit New Zealand hereby makes the following bylaw: B y l a w 1. Title and commencement This bylaw may be cited as the Transit New Zealand (Speed of Vehicles on State Highways) Bylaw 1998/13 and shall come into force 28 days after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette. 2. Interpretation In this bylaw ``Vehicle'' has the same meaning as in the Transport Act 1962. 3. Limiting speed of vehicles on State highways No person shall drive or take or permit to be driven or taken any vehicle (a) At a speed exceeding 60 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the First Schedule to this bylaw; or (b) At a speed exceeding 80 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the Second Schedule to this bylaw. First Schedule 4. The section of State Highway No. 1 that is: (a) At Hamilton City, commencing at the intersection of Rotokauri Road and State Highway 1 ( Route Position 452/5.52), proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction to a point (Route Position 459/0.82) located 160 metres south of Killarney Road; a distance of approximately 3.92 kilometres. (b) At Hamilton City, commencing at a point (Route Position 459/1.72) 80 metres north of Kahikatea Drive, proceeding in a generally easterly direction to a point (Route Position 462/0.57) located 40 metres north-east of the intersection of Lorne Street and Normandy Avenue; a distance of approximately 2.70 kilometres. (c) At Hamilton City, commencing at a point (Route Position 463/2.43) 180 metres west of Howell Avenue, proceeding in a generally easterly direction to the intersection of Riverlea Road and State Highway 1 (Route Position 467/0.63); a distance of approximately 1.58 kilometres. 5. The section of State Highway No. 3 that is: (a) At Hamilton City, commencing at the intersection of Kahikatea Drive and State Highway 3 (Route Position 0/0.0) proceeding in a generally southerly direction to the intersection of Resthill Crescent and State Highway 3 (Route Position 0/2.20); a distance of approximately 2.20 kilometres. (b) At Hamilton City, on Normandy Avenue commencing at the intersection of Lorne Street and State Highway 3 On-Ramp (Route Position 0/0.0), proceeding in a generally southerly direction to the intersection of Ohaupo Road and State Highway 3 On-Ramp (Route Position 0/0.68); a distance of approximately 680 metres. 6. That section of State Highway No. 26 at Hamilton City, commencing at the intersection of Cambridge Road and State Highway 26 (Route Position 0/0.0), proceeding in a generally easterly direction to a point (Route Position 0/0.72) located 290 metres north-east of Berkley Avenue; a distance of approximately 720 metres. Second Schedule 7. The section of State Highway No. 1 that is: (a) At Ohinewai from a point 380 metres north of the centreline of Tahuna Road (Route Position 412/7.79) to a point (Route Position 412/8.72) 550 metres generally south of Tahuna Road; a distance of 930 metres. (b) At Horotiu, commencing at a point (Route Position 442/6.02) 80 metres north of its junction with Whatawhata Road and extending 790 metres generally in a southerly direction to a point (Route Position 442/6.81) 70 metres south of Horotiu Road; a distance of 790 metres. (c) At Hamilton, commencing at a point (Route Position 452/1.82) 180 metres north of the Te Kowhai Road intersection extending in a southerly direction for a distance of 3.70 kilometres to Rotokauri Road (at Route Position 452/5.52). (d) At Hamilton City, commencing at a point (Route Position 459/0.82) 160 metres south of Killarney Road proceeding in a southerly direction to a point (at Route Position 459/1.72) located 80 metres north of Kahikatea Drive; a distance of approximately 900 metres. (e) At Hamilton City, commencing at a point (Route Position 462/0.57) 40 metres north-east of Lorne Street and Normandy Avenue intersection proceeding in a generally easterly direction to a point (Route Position 463/2.43) located 180 metres west of Howell Avenue; a distance of approximately 2.83 kilometres. (f) At Hamilton commencing at Riverlea Road (Route Position 467/0.63) extending in a southerly direction for a distance of 790 metres to a point (at Route Position 468/0.42) measured 170 metres north of Annebrook Road. (g) At Cambridge from a point (Route Position 478/7.02) approximately 100 metres south of Duke Street extending in a southerly direction for a distance of 490 metres to a point (Route Position 485/0.29) approximately 290 metres south of the intersection of State Highway No. 1 and Shakespeare Street. (h) At Taupo from a point (Route Position 606/5.94) 504 metres north of the centreline of Huka Falls Loop Road at its southern junction with State Highway No. 1 in a generally southerly direction to a point (Route Position 606/7.12) 109 metres north of the centreline of Norman Smith Street. 8. The section of State Highway No. 2 that is: (a) At Mangatawhiri from a point (Route Position 0/9.20) measured 150 metres west of Koheroa Road proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction for a distance 1.15 kilometres to a point (Route Position 0/10.35) measured 150 metres east of McKenzie Road. (b) At Te Puna from a point (Route Position 130/13.33) approximately 180 metres west of Loop Road extending in an easterly direction for a distance of 1.28 kilometres to a point (Route Position 130/14.61) approximately 360 metres east of Te Puna Road. (c) At Bethlehem commencing at a point (Route Position 140/8.28) 320 metres east of Bethlehem Road and extending in an easterly direction to a point (Route Position 140/9.45) 200 metres west of Johnathon Street; a distance of 1.13 kilometres. 9. The section of State Highway No. 3 that is from Te Awamutu to Kihikihi commencing at a point (Route Position 16/12.54) approximately 210 metres south of Turere Lane then extending in a southerly direction along State Highway No. 3 for a distance of 1.50 kilometres to a point (Route Position 16/14.05) approximately 210 metres north of Herbert Street. 10. The section of State Highway No. 5 that is: (a) At Ngongotaha from a point (Route Position 29/15.93) measured 100 metres north-west of the Ngongotaha Roundabout extending in an easterly then a southerly direction for a distance of 2.06 kilometres to a point (Route Position 29/17.99) 520 metres north of Barnard Road. (b) At Rotorua (Old Taupo Road) from a point (Route Position 50/3.38) measured 630 metres south of Moncur Drive proceeding in a south-easterly direction to the intersection of State Highways No. 5 and No. 30 (at Old Taupo Road and Hemo Road), then proceeding south on the common section of State Highways No. 5 and No. 30 (Hemo Road) to a point (Route Position 54/0.28) measured 280 metres south of the Old Taupo Road and Hemo Road intersection; a distance of 330 metres. (c) At Reporoa from a point (Route Position 77/13.98) 610 metres north of the centreline of Reporoa Road to a point (Route Position 77/14.92) 330 metres south of the centreline of Reporoa Road; a distance of 940 metres. 11. The section of State Highway No. 23 that is at Whatawhata commencing at a point (Route Position 3/6.18) measured 50 metres east of the intersection of Egan Road and State Highway No. 23 extending in a westerly direction along the State highway for a distance of 830 metres to a point (Route Position 3/7.01) measured 100 metres west of Horotiu Road. 12. The section of State Highway No. 26 that is at Hamilton, commencing at a point (Route Position 0/0.72) 270 metres north-east of Berkley Avenue proceeding in a generally easterly direction to a point (Route Position 1/2.42) 200 metres north-east of Ruakura Station Road; a distance of 2.7 kilometres. 13. The section of State Highway No. 30 that is at Rotorua commencing at the intersection of State Highway No. 30 (Hemo Road) and State Highway No. 5 (Hemo Road and Old Taupo Road at Route Position 144/0.00) proceeding in a north-easterly direction to a point (Route Position 144/0.720) measured 720 metres north-east of the intersection of Hemo Road and old Taupo Road; a distance of 720 metres. 14. The section of State Highway No. 35 that is at Tirohanga from a point (Route Position 0/6.99) 100 metres west of Tirohanga Road, extending in an easterly direction along State Highway No. 35 for a distance of approximately 1.26 kilometres to a point (Route Position 0/8.25) 1.16 kilometres east of Tirohanga Road.
