Radiocommunications Interference Notice 1993, Amendment No. 2 Pursuant to regulation 41 of the Radiocommunications (Radio) Regulations 1993, the General Manager, Communications Division, Ministry of Commerce, acting under delegated authority from the Secretary of Commerce, hereby gives the following notice: N o t i c e 1. Title and commencement (1) This notice may be cited as the Radiocommunications Interference Notice 1993, Amendment No. 2, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Radiocommunications Interference Notice 1993 (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice). (2) This notice shall come into force on the day after its publication in the Gazette. 2. Standard for sound and television broadcast receivers and associated equipment Clause 4 of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting subclause (5) of this clause. 3. Standard for appliances the main functions of which are performed by motors and switching or regulating devices, unless the radio-frequency energy is intentionally generated or intended for illumination (1) Clause 5 of the principal notice is hereby amended by inserting, after subclause (4A), the following subclause: ``(4B) Notwithstanding subclause (4) of this clause, subclause (3) of this clause shall not apply to the class of interfering equipment being electronic transformers referred to in subclause (1) of this clause for emissions at the load terminals.'' (2) Clause 5 of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting subclause (5) of this clause. 4. Standard for lighting equipment with a primary purpose of generating and/or distributing light, the lighting part of multi-function equipment, independent auxiliaries, ultra- violet and infra-red radiation devices, neon advertising signs, and street and flood lighting (1) Clause 6 (3) (b) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the expression ``1992'' and substituting the expression ``1994''. (2) Clause 6 of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting subclause (5) of this clause. 5. Standard for information technology equipment (1) Clause 8 (3) (a) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the expression ``1987'' and substituting the expression ``1993''. (2) Clause 8 (3) (c) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the expression ``1992'' and substituting the expression ``1987''. 6. Standard for VHF and UHF angle modulated radio apparatus for use in the land mobile service with a carrier separation of 25 kHz and a maximum deviation of / 5 kHz Clause 15 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the expression ``Issue 1, December 1991'' and substituting the expression ``Issue 2, May 1994''. 7. Standard for telemetry and telecommand radio apparatus Clause 17 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the expression ``Issue 3, August 1989'' and substituting the expression ``Issue 4, October 1994''. 8. Standard for radio paging radio apparatus Clause 18 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the expression ``Issue 1, December 1988'' and substituting the expression ``Issue 2, October 1994''. 9. Standard for restricted radiation radio apparatus Clause 19 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the expression ``Issue 5, December 1992'' and substituting the expression ``Issue 6, February 1994''. 10. Standard for non-speech radio apparatus using angle modulated with a carrier separation of 25 kHz and a maximum deviation of / 5 kHz Clause 20 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the expression ``Issue 1, December 1991'' and substituting the expression ``Issue 2, May 1994''. 11. Standard for VHF and UHF angle modulated radio apparatus for use in the fixed service with a carrier separation of 25 kHz or 50 kHz Clause 24 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended by omitting the expression ``Issue 1, July 1992'' and substituting the expression ``Issue 2, May 1994''. Explanatory Note This note is not part of the Notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect. This notice prescribes the standards applicable to classes of interfering equipment (as defined in section 2 (1) of the Radiocommunications Act 1989). The number of samples required to be tested for the purpose of complying with any of the standards prescribed in subclause (3) of clauses (4), (5) and (6) has been reduced from three to one.
