Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Waioweka Pursuant to sections 146 and 155 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education, hereby gives the following notice: N o t i c e 1. This notice may be cited as the Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Waioweka. 2. The notice shall come into force two days after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette. 3. I hereby establish at Waioweka a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Waioweka, and designate it as a kura kaupapa Maori. 4. Aims, purposes, and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Waioweka. Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction, the following aims, purposes, and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Waioweka: (a) To provide a happy, healthy, stimulating learning environment conducive to the development of the total child, physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and intellectual where every child receives equal opportunity and encouragement to reach his/her potential. (b) To instil the qualities of aroha, manaaki, tautoko, awhina and humarie as the guiding lights that will permeate throughout the school. (c) To build on each child's self-esteem and to teach them to be strong, confident, and assertive, as well as being humble. (d) To strive for the highest quality of learning and achievement allowing for invidual differences in learning; to allow for those with special needs, and to provide learning situations of non-failure. 5. Constitution of the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Waioweka shall comprise: (a) Six elected parent representatives. (b) The principal. (c) A staff representative.
