Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1995 Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice. N o t i c e 1. (1) This notice shall be cited as the Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1995; (2) The Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1990 and all its amendments (a) are hereby revoked; (3) The Waiopu Rural Fire District Notice 1991 and all its amendments (b) are hereby revoked; and (4) This notice shall come into force on the 28th day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette. 2. In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires: the ``Act'' means the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977; the ``committee'' means the Eastland Rural Fire Committee; the ``district'' means the Eastland Rural Fire District; and the ``notice'' means the Eastland Rural Fire District Notice 1995. Constitution of the Rural Fire District 3. (1) The areas set out in the Schedule to this notice are hereby constituted and declared to be the district; (2) For the purpose of the Act the district shall be administered by the committee; (3) The committee shall consist of eight members as follows: (a) One person appointed, in writing, by Hikurangi Forest Farms Limited signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof; (b) One person appointed, in writing, by Juken Nissho Limited signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof; (c) One person appointed, in writing, by P.F. Olsen and Company Limited signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof; (d) One person appointed, in writing, by Rayonier New Zealand Limited signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof; (e) One person appointed, in writing, by Ngati Porou Forest Limited signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof; (f) One person appointed, in writing, by the Secretary of Forestry for the Ministry of Forestry; (g) One person appointed, in writing, by the Gisborne District Council; and (h) One person appointed, in writing, by the Director-General of the Department of Conservation. (4) The area set out in the Schedule to the notice does not include any ``fire district'' as that term is defined in section 2 of the Fire Service Act 1975. (5) The period between the 1st day of October in any year and the 30th day of September in the following year (both days inclusive) is hereby declared to be a restricted fire season in the district. Plan 8772, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Gisborne. 2. All those parcels containing 12 950 hectares, more or less, as marked ``A'' to ``X'' inclusive on S.O. Plan 8473, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Gisborne. 3. All those parcels containing 13 850 hectares, more or less, being the land edged green on a copy of S.O. All those parcels containing 11 100 hectares, more or less, being the land edged green on a copy of S.O. All those parcels containing 3 500 hectares, more or less, being the land edged green on a copy of the plan labelled Waipaoa Lease Forest and being Lot 1, D.P. 6941, Gisborne Land District, more commonly known as WAIPAOA LEASE FOREST. 6. All those parcels containing 12 510 hectares, more or less, being the land edged green on S.O. Plan 8492, Gisborne Land District and being Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35, D.P. 8162, more commonly known as MANGATU FOREST. 7. Where a boundary is shown there shall be immediately adjacent to those lands a fire safety margin of one kilometre deemed to be within the boundaries of the Eastland Rural Fire District, but does not include where the fire safety margin overlaps an adjacent Rural Fire District. 8. The boundaries are more particularly delineated, but excluding the fire safety margin, on those plans NRFA 118 entitled Eastland Rural Fire District, deposited in the National Office of the New Zealand Fire Service at Wellington.
