The Fisheries (Long Bay Shellfish Closed Season) Notice 1994 (No. 5318) Pursuant to section 85 of the Fisheries Act 1983, the Director General of Agriculture and Fisheries, after consultation with the Director-General of Conservation, the Fishing Industry Board and the Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission, pursuant to sections 85 and 86 of the Fisheries Act 1983, hereby gives the following notice. N o t i c e 1. Title and commencement This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Long Bay Shellfish Closed Season) Notice 1994 and shall come into force on the 12th day of February 1994. 2. Interpretation In this notice, the term: ``Shellfish'' has the meaning given in the Fisheries Act 1983; ``Long Bay Shellfish Area'' means all those waters lying within an area bounded by a line commencing at Okura Pt. (at 36 39.76 S and 174 44.64 E); thence proceeding generally in a north easterly direction to the navigation beacon on the corner of the drying reef (at 36 39.58 S and 174 44.83 E); thence proceeding generally a south easterly direction to the navigation beacon on the corner of the drying reef (at 36 41.89 S and 174 45.91 E); thence generally in a north westerly direction to the easternmost portion of Toroa Pt. (at 36 41.87 S and 174 45.72 E); thence generally in a north westerly direction along mean high-water mark to the point of commencement.'' 3. Closed season for shellfish determined There is hereby determined to be a closed season for the taking of all shellfish within the Long Bay Shellfish Area commencing on the 12th day of February 1994, and expiring within the 12th day of February 1996.
