Notice of Application for Approval of a Scheme Pursuant to Part III of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 Notice is hereby given that the Roman Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Palmerston North as trustee of the will of John Dwyer, late of Patea, farmer, deceased, has filed in the High Court at New Plymouth an application for approval of a scheme. The proposed scheme would allow for a widening of the existing charitable purposes for which the estate of the deceased is at present held. Under the proposed scheme, the estate of the deceased would in summary be held for the following purposes: 1. The maintenance of the Roman Catholic Parish School at Patea. 2. The provision of financial assistance towards teaching aids required in connection with the school. 3. Financial assistance for the following: The benefit of pupils at the school who need such assistance, children from the Patea Parish who need such assistance to attend a Catholic secondary school or a school providing special education, educational requirements for the educational instruction of children of the Patea Parish or adults from the parish taking courses at the school or elsewhere in Catholic education. 4. For the advancement of education, support in the case of need and general welfare of members of the Patea Parish. 5. Subject to the preceding purpose: In respect of income only for the advancement of education elsewhere in the Diocese of Palmerston North. Copies of the scheme and the report on it by the Attorney-General may be inspected free of charge at the office of the Registrar of the High Court at New Plymouth or at the offices of Welsh McCarthy, Solicitors, 46 High Street, Hawera. The application has been set down for hearing in the High Court at New Plymouth on the 16th day of September 1994. Any person wanting to oppose the scheme is required to give written notice of his or her intention to do so to the Registrar of the High Court at New Plymouth and to the applicant, care of Welsh McCarthy, P.O. Box 434, Hawera and to the Attorney-General, care of the Crown Law Office, P.O. Box 5012, Wellington, not less than 7 clear days before the above-mentioned date. J.
