Pursuant to section 43(2)(g) of the Child Protection (Child Sex Offender Government Agency Registration) Act 2016, the Minister of Police gives the following notice.

1. Title

This notice is the Child Protection (Child Sex Offender Government Agency Registration) (Specified Agency) Notice 2020.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force on 24 February 2020.

3. Interpretation

In this notice:

Registrar-General, Births, Deaths and Marriages means the agency responsible for the registration and maintenance of birth, death, marriage, civil union and name change information in New Zealand.

Specified Agency has the same meaning as in section 43(2) of the Child Protection (Child Sex Offender Government Agency Registration) Act 2016.

4. Consultation

The Privacy Commissioner has been consulted on the content of this notice.

5. Approval of specified government agency

The Registrar-General, Births, Deaths, and Marriages is identified as a specified agency.
