Pursuant to sections 47(3) and 395(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting, during the period from 3 March 2017 to 8 May 2017, of the following exemptions:
- 1 from Maritime Rule 19.63 – Maritime Transport Operator – Certification and Responsibilities – Survey requirements – Completion of surveys and alternative survey arrangements.
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31.25(1) – Crewing and Watchkeeping – General crewing and other requirements – Duty of crew to hold certificates and to be able to demonstrate ancillary proficiencies – Specific certificate or endorsement or higher grade of certificate or endorsement.
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31.43(1) – Crewing and Watchkeeping – SOLAS and STCW ships – Unlimited area – Requirements to carry navigational and engine room watchkeepers, and a cook holding qualifications and demonstrating ancillary proficiencies.
