Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962
and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the
Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated
9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Hamilton City) Notice 2003.
2. Pursuant to section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, all roads in Hamilton City are declared to be in a closely populated locality at all times with a maximum speed limit of 50 kilometres an hour, except for those roads specified in the First Schedule or the Second Schedule to this notice.
3. Pursuant to section 52 (2) of the Transport Act 1962,
the roads specified in the First Schedule are excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 (1) of that Act.
4. The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometre an hour speed limit areas pursuant to Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.
5. The Traffic (Hamilton City) Notice 2001* is revoked.
First Schedule
Situated within Hamilton City:
State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff): From the northern boundary of Hamilton City to the eastern boundary of Hamilton City.
State Highway No. 3 (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth): From State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff) to the southern boundary of Hamilton City.
State Highway No. 23 (Hamilton-Raglan): From a point 60 metres measured westerly, generally, along
the said State highway from Newcastle Road to the western boundary of Hamilton City.
State Highway No. 26 (Hamilton-Kopu): From the eastern boundary of Hamilton City to State Highway No. 1 (Awarua-Bluff).
Baverstock Road (formerly Thomas Road): From Brymer Road to a point 1200 metres measured
north-easterly, generally, along Baverstock Road from Brymer Road.
Borman Road.
Brymer Road: From Rotokauri Road to a point 1050 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along Brymer Road from Grandview Road.
Burbush Road.
Cate Road: From Kay Road to a point 300 metres measured northerly, generally, along Cate Road from Thomas Road.
Church Road: From State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 230 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along Church Road from Balmerino Crescent.
Cobham Drive: From a point 60 metres measured
south-easterly, generally, along Cobham Drive from Bridge Street to State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff).
Dixon Road: From Waterford Road to its south-eastern end.

south-western boundary of Hamilton City.
