The Commodity Levies (Arable Commodities) Order 1994 Pursuant to section 3 of the Commodity Levies (Arable Commodities) Order 1994, a levy has been imposed on, and shall be payable by the producers of any arable commodity grown in New Zealand and sold. In accordance with section 10 (1) of the order, the Foundation for Arable Research have determined the rate of the levy for 1999 to be: Herbage and amenity seed 0.4% of assessed value; Wheat, Barley, Pulses, Oats, Ryecorn, Triticale, Oil seed rape, Linseed, Borage, Maize (including cribbed maize and popcorn) 0.4% of sale value; Brassicas (except oil seed rape) 0.4% of assessed value; Evening Primrose, Phacelia, Coriander, Buckwheat, Dill, Birdseed, Sunflower, Meadowfoam etc. 0.1% of sale value.
