Whanganui-Manawatu Rural Fire District Notice 1994 Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice. N o t i c e 1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Whanganui-Manawatu Rural Fire District Notice 1994. (2) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1994. 2. In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires: the ``Act'' means the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977; the ``committee'' means the Whanganui-Manawatu Rural Fire Committee; and the ``district'' means the Whanganui-Manawatu Rural Fire District. Constitution of the Whanganui-Manawatu Rural Fire District 3. The areas specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby constituted and declared to be a rural fire district to be known as the Whanganui-Manawatu Rural Fire District. 4. The Whanganui-Manawatu Rural Fire District shall be administered for the purpose of the Act by a rural fire committee known as the Whanganui-Manawatu Rural Fire Committee. 5. The committee shall consist of six members as follows: (1) One person appointed, in writing, by Rayonier New Zealand Limited, signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof; and (2) One person appointed, in writing, by Ernslaw One Limited, signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof; and (3) One person appointed, in writing, by The Wanganui District Council; and (4) One person appointed, in writing, by the Director-General of the Department of Conservation; and (5) One person appointed, in writing, by the Secretary of Justice of the Department of Justice; and (6) One person appointed, in writing, by The Manawatu-Whanganui Regional Council. 6. The period between the 1st day of October in any one year and the 30th day of September in the following year (both days inclusive) is hereby declared to be a restricted fire season in the district. Schedule Wellington Land District Wanganui, Rangitikei, Manawatu and Horowhenua Districts Whanganui-Manawatu Rural Fire District All those parcels containing 74 500 hectares, more or less, as shown on S.O. Plan 37296, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington and as the same on those plans numbered NRFA 113 deposited in the National Headquarters of the New Zealand Fire Service at Wellington.
