The Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice (No. 2) 1993 (No. 5307) Pursuant to section 28zzf (2) of the Fisheries Act 1983 and delegation made pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, the Director (Operations), MAF Fisheries hereby makes the following notice: N o t i c e 1. Title and commencement (1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice (No. 2) 1993. (2) This notice shall come into effect on the 19th day of November 1993. 2. Interpretation In this notice any reference to the Southern Scallop Fishery means the fishery described in Part I of Schedule 1D to the Fisheries Act 1983. 3. Rotational fishing areas No commercial fishermen may take scallops from the following defined areas within the waters of the Southern Scallop Fishery. Area B and C: The area contained by a straight line from the outer leading light at Collingwood (at 40 40.7S and 172 41.0E) to Bush End Point Light, Farewell Spit (at 40 32.9S and 173 00.6E) to Taupo Point (at 40 47.4S and 172 57.3E) and then back along the mean high water mark to the outer leading light at Collingwood (at 40 40.7S and 172 41.0E). Areas D and E: The area contained by a straight line commencing near Totaranui (at 40 49.0S and 173 00.9E) to the outer edge of the Separation Point Coral Patch (at 40 47.7S and 173 07.7E) to a point in mid Tasman Bay (at 41 02.8S and 173 16.1E) to Port Motueka (at 41 08.3S and 173 01.3E) and then back along the mean high water mark to a point near Totaranui (at 40 49.0S and 173 00.9E). Areas G and H: The area contained by a straight line commencing at the eastern end of Rabbit Island (at 41 17.1S and 173 11.8E) to a point in mid Tasman Bay (at 41 02.8S and 173 16.1E) to Okuri Point (at 40 58.6S and 173 45.7E) and then back along the mean high water mark to the eastern end of Rabbit Island (at 41 17.1S and 173 11.8E). Marlborough Sounds: Those waters of the Southern Scallop Fishery which lie east of longitude 173 50E other than those waters enclosed by a straight line from the northern most point of Nile Head at 40 43.8S and 173 52.3E to the northern most point of Cape Stephens at 40 41.7S and 173 57.5E and the mean highwater mark between those points. 4. Cancellation of previous notice The Fisheries (Southern Scallop Fishery Rotational Fishing) Notice 1993 (No. 5272) published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 12th day of August 1993, Issue No. 122 at page 2400 is hereby cancelled.
